Troubleshooting

On this page

Fixes for the most common setup problems, in the order they tend to appear. If you haven't set up yet, start with Getting Started.

Loader closes immediately

The loader window flashes open and disappears. This is almost always a missing runtime:

  1. Install the Visual C++ Redistributable (2015–2022) from Microsoft.
  2. Still closing? Install .NET Framework 4.8.
  3. As a last resort, the TechPowerUp all-in-one runtime package installs every VC++ version at once.

If it still closes after all three, check whether your antivirus removed or blocked the file — see below.

"Invalid license key"

  • Check for extra spaces or missing characters — use the copy button on the panel's Downloads page rather than typing the key.
  • Make sure your subscription is still active: the Downloads page shows your remaining days.
  • A frozen license can't authenticate — unfreeze it from the panel first, or contact support if you didn't freeze it.

Computer not showing as Online

Your PC doesn't appear (or shows offline) on game.violet.cx:

  1. The loader must stay running — check its console window still shows "Ready, waiting for commands from dashboard...".
  2. Allow the loader through Windows Firewall and any third-party firewall.
  3. Restart the loader, then refresh the menu page. The computer list updates within a few seconds.

Game doesn't launch

You press Launch but MapleStory never starts, or login fails:

  • Double-check the Nexon username/email and password on your game profile.
  • If MapleStory isn't in its default install location, set the correct MapleStory path in your computer's view in the menu.
  • If your Nexon account uses email verification, watch the menu for the code prompt on first launch.
  • Add both the loader and your MapleStory folder to your antivirus exclusions.

Loader flagged by antivirus

The loader is a custom-built executable, so SmartScreen and some antivirus products treat it as unknown:

  • On the SmartScreen prompt, click More info → Run anyway.
  • If it was quarantined, restore it and add its folder to your antivirus exclusions, then run it again.
  • Never download the loader from anywhere except your own panel — each build is tied to your license.

Still stuck?

Open a ticket in the Discord with a short description of the step that fails and what the loader console shows — that's usually enough to diagnose it quickly.
